Dr. Smith is the previous Chief of Staff at Trinity, and currently Physician Advisor at Trinity.A graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Smith also holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, a Masters of Science from the University of Georgia, and a BA from Carson-Newman College. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the US Naval Hospital Charleston, South Carolina. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice, assistant clinical professor of Family Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and is Chief of Staff at Trinity Hospital. Dr. Smith has been named on the "Best Doctors" list in Family Practice. Dr. Smith is married and a native of Carrollton, Georgia. His special interests are in pediatrics, women's health and cardiovascular health.

Dr. Pickett is the current Chairman of the Dept of Family Medicine at Trinity. A native of South Carolina and a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Pickett moved to Augusta and completed a residency in Family Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia. Married with two children. Dr. Pickett enjoys family values. His patient care interests include, adolescent care, women's and men's preventive medicine, geriatrics, diabetes and hypertension. Professional organizations: Member of American Academy of Family Physicians, Member of Georgia Academy of Family Physicians., Board Member of PRimary Care Association.

Dr. Conkright lives in Augusta with his wife and eight children. Graduating from USC-Aiken with a BS in chemistry in 1990, Dr. Conkright attended the Medical College of Georgia for medical school and completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in 1997. Dr. Conkright is certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and from all walks of life. Special interests include adolescent health, women's health, sports medicine, geriatrics and hospice.

Dr. Van Alstine is the previous Chief of Staff at Trinity, and currently medical director of the wound healing center, and on Board of Directors for the hospital. Dr. Van Alstine received his degree in chemistry at USC-Aiken and Master's in mechanical engineering at the University of South Carolina. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia and finished his residency at Riverside Family Practice in Virginia. Dr. Van Alstine grew up in the Aiken-Augusta area and in 2001 he and his wife along with their children returned to Augusta to enjoy close proximity to family, church and friends. He is currently chairman of the Family Practice Department and director of the Wound Healing Center at Trinity Hospital. Special interests include adolescents, sports, acute care, geriatrics, diabetes and cardiovascular health.

Physicians Assistants

April U. Fox, PA-C
April is a certified Physician Assistant and has been employed by Family Medicine Associates of Augusta since August of 2004. Graduating from Augusta State University with a BS degree in Biology in 1999, she attended the Medical College of Georgia and graduated with a BC degree in Physician Assistant in May 2004.She lives with her husband and two sons in North Augusta, SC. Her patient care interests include women's health, preventative medicine, hypertension, and mental health.

Meghan Sterett, PA-C
Meghan is a certified Physician Assistant. Graduating from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a BA degree in Humanities in 2004, she attended the Medical College of Georgia and graduated with a Masters in Physician Assistant in 2009. She lives with her husband in Augusta, Georgia. She enjoys seeing adults and children of all ages. Her patient care interests include nutrition, weight loss management, sports medicine, women's health, preventative medicine, and adolescent care.

Chris Hall, PA-C
Chris is a certified Physician Assistant from Augusta. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with Associate (1994) and Bachelor degrees (1999) in Radiologic Sciences as a Registered Radiation Therapist and was subsequently employed at MCG as a staff Radiation Therapist for 10 years. He then attended the PA program at the Medical College of Georgia, graduating in 2007 with a BS in Physician Assistant studies. He spent 6 years employed in Radiation Oncology, and the past 3 years employed in Primary Care and Adult and Pediatric Urgent Care. Chris is married and has 6 children. He enjoys playing golf, hunting, fishing, participating in church/faith based activities, and spending time with his family. He enjoys patients of all ages. His special patient care interests include Pediatrics, Diabetes, Geriatrics, and Oncology.

Susie McBride, NP-C
Susie is a certified Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from the Medical College of GA with a BSN and worked as a nurse for 17years before returning to school to obtain her MSN. She graduated in 2014 with her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Gerogia Regents University. She lives with her husband and their 6 children - 3 boys and 3 girls. She is active in her church and community and enjoys coaching her daughters sports teams. She is interested in cardiovascular health, womens health and particulary preventative medicine.
